Where Team Tendy Lax Goalies Play Now
Our Philosophy
& How We Train
Our Women’s Program is intentionally designed around the quickness, pace, and shooting demands of the women’s game. Training takes place in a focused, small-group setting—limited to two goals and no more than 10 goalies—creating an environment where reps are intentional, communication is direct, and technique is reinforced. Each 60-minute session balances volume and intensity with detailed, individualized instruction to ensure goalies are challenged while continuing to refine core fundamentals.
-
What We Cover
Women’s training emphasizes angle discipline, footwork efficiency, rebound control, and decision-making under pressure. Sessions are structured around higher shot velocity, increased physical presence around the crease, and realistic scoring scenarios common in the women’s game.
Movement patterns, stick positioning, body saves, and recovery mechanics are trained with precision, reinforcing balance, control, and consistency through contact, traffic, and broken plays.
-
Training Progression
Every session is intentionally different. Our staff continually evaluates and adapts the training process to introduce new concepts while reinforcing technical foundations built over time.
While core goalie principles remain consistent, our women’s curriculum is specifically tailored to the spacing, physicality, and offensive tendencies unique to the women’s game.
-
Development Goals
Each session concludes with a lesson focused on developing the complete athlete—physically, mentally, and spiritually—so growth happens not only in the crease, but beyond the field as well.

Women's Director
Coach Mackenzie Porter
Mackenzie Porter brings elite goalkeeping experience, academic excellence, and a passion for player development to every training environment. A standout goalie at Hendrick Hudson High School (NY), she was a two-time US Lacrosse All-American and one of the most decorated players in her section. That competitive foundation carried into her collegiate career, where she established herself as one of the top goalkeepers in the GLVC—earning multiple All-GLVC Second Team selections, being named GLVC Defensive Player of the Week three times, and receiving IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week honors at the national level.

"The experienced, quality coaching at Team Tendy is absolutely unmatched. It's hard to schedule decent goalie work in a typical Varsity practice, so I send my goalies to TT knowing they're going to get countless reps with the best shooters in the city in a supportive, high-energy, FUN environment. Our goalies come back more confident, more mentally tough, and more knowledgeable, knowing keeper "lingo" and strategies for building resilience in both practice and games. Sean and the other goalie coaches are experts in training reaction time, focus, talk, and leadership."
